When it comes to style, the British diva Audrey Hepburn was, is, and will always be an icon of retro fashion. How could we ever forget the most infamous of vintage dresses, the little black dress (or LBD, as we know it now) accessorized effortlessly with pearls, worn by “Holly Golightly” in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”? To be honest, we couldn’t even if we wanted to.

Although this iconic little black dress was worn way back in 1961 it shall never go out of fashion because it’s simple yet effective. One can never go wrong when wearing a black dress. Celebrities still rely on their trusty LBDs concept for the red carpet, attending movie premiers, charity events and award ceremonies.

Accessories have always been an important part when aiming to create a certain look. Whether it’s about jewelry, sunglasses, gloves or shoes, these have to stand out in bold yet elegant way.

Drew Barrymore is one of the actresses known for her vintage style appearances. The details of this vintage inspired look perfectly blend together creating an overall appearance which is likely to capture everyone’s attention. The figure flattering dress with dramatic puffed sleeves and cut out ivory and black heels are a winning combination. Just by adding an oversized ring and earrings to go with the red lips, red nails and pulled back hair Drew Barrymore successfully manages to create a look well worth remembering.

Another actress who was showed an interest in vintage fashion is Katherine Heigl. The combination between the vintage evening dress, pearls and pulled back hair is reminiscent to Audrey Hepburn’s outstanding look from 1961. The red lipstick and the knee length of the dress offer a modern twist to the entire outfit. Yet again the dress is form fitting enhancing Katherine’s body. Last but not least, the shoes have the classic round shape which contributes to creating the feeling of elegance and distinction.

Carey Mulligan’s little black retro dress with a lacy white collar and ¾ sleeves is by far one of the most vintage style outfits. The young actress combines the knee length dress with a discreet black purse, black opaque tights and retro shoes. Apart from the dress, the shoes are also reminiscent of the time when vintage clothes were in fashion. The round shape and the straps perfectly match with the lace in the collar as well as Carey Mulligan’s short hairdo.
