Day 2 with Vodafone VIP began at DAKS.
We were transported to the British seaside, with vintage footage from effortlessly glam 50s seaside towns being projected onto the wall, pretty postcards on our seats and traditonal sweeties in cutesy ribbon tied bags. I really like flying saucers, it turns out. A sherbert-tastic revelation! I noticed I was the only person in my block who was tucking into sweets from the moment I sat down, but hey! It was 9am and I hadn't had breakfast.
This was the first catwalk collection with Sheila McKain-Waid at the helm and key pieces included 50s inspired terrycloth playsuits and shorts in oversized DAKS House Check, bias cut halter neck dresses and skirts that skim the calf.
My favourite 3 looks?

So what inspired the collection? “The DAKS archive, pleating techniques and post-war designers like Claire McCardell.”
Watch the full show below, you can tell your mates you were there! They'll never know...
