Jaeger London SS12 Collection at LFW

Sept. 19, 2011 by None in LFW

The Jaeger London show is always a LFW highlight, and as I took my seat courtesy of Vodafone VIP I was very excited to see if the 70s theme from AW11 would continue. And it did!

We've seen quite a few straw hats on the catwalk this week but none have been as glam as the Jaeger London designs. These hats really do look like they belong in one of Jaeger's advertising posters from the 70s, so it's unsuprising that it was Jaeger's advertising history that inspired Stuart when designing the collection.

The other accessories were equally charming, from the bags to the sunglasses.

I haven't included a hat shot as one of my three favourite looks as there were just too many key looks to choose from, but watch the full show vid below to see the hats in all their glory!

So what caught my eye?

And what inspired the collection? “The glamour of 1960s/1970s travel, 1970s Jaeger advertising campaigns and colour, detail and texture”, Stuart told the BFC.

I interviewed Stuart myself last night and will be posting the video soon, but we chatted about the SS12 collection and there's definitley a strong tie to the AW11 collection we saw last season. This is the same woman we saw in AW11, but she's taken off her glamorous heavy coat and now she's getting on a plane to go somewhere fabulous - at a time when air travel was still a luxury. You wouldn't be packing away those marvellous hats on an Easyjet flight!

Watch the full show below, you can tell your mates you were there! They'll never know...
