A clean silhouette is always a fail-safe look for any occasion. But it doesn’t have to be boring or bland – far from it – it’s the details that make the outfit. The navy centre panel of this skirt has a faux snake skin strip down the front which helps to elongate the legs and makes an interesting feature.
I love the full length zip at the back of the skirt, it really elevates the glam factor. It’s the first item from the Mary Portas & House of Fraser range I’ve purchased. When the collection first launched my initial reaction was that it was a little over priced. I bought this skirt in the sale and although I wouldn’t have paid full price for it I am really pleased with the quality. The material is a thick jersey which creates a nice silhouette. I paired it with a black lace cross over top from Kaliko.
The vintage shoes were my mum’s – she bought them in the ’80’s. They’ve certainly lasted well – although I did lose a rubber heel tip as soon as I got out of the car and had to dash out in my lunch break to get them repaired!
