I am half recommending this event because I will know it will be good...and half recommending it because I want you to come and BUY MY CLOTHES.
If you like bargains/pre-owned designer fashion (i.e 'if you're human') then you'll want to make sure you get to BuyMyWardrobe Live next week.
There'll be lots of fashionistas selling their wares (including the gorgeous Tanya Prendergast) and I'll be there too selling Burberry, Christoper Kane, Marc Jacobs, DVF, Mary Katrantzou and more from the dedicated Bloggers Rail.
The event, sponsored by Gold Emotion, will open with a VIP champagne preview hour where shoppers can enjoy a glass of Luxor champers (that's the stuff with the real 24 carat gold flakes floating about in it - mega bling) whilst browsing all the goodies. The Glam Collective team will be on hand to pamper with a pop up makeup bar and there'll be complimentary eyebrow threading by the experts iBrows etc.

A few weeks ago, WIWT got asked if we wanted to go along to Bestival as part of a blogger trip, which had been arranged to the famous Isle of Wight festival with Echo Falls. I went along to snap some street style for the site (see all the outfits I found here), and having heard Bestival described as a 'mini Glastonbury' I think it's safe to say I had some pretty big expectations. I certainly wasn't disappointed, and now that LFW is over and I can finally sit down and take a bit of a breather after a very hectic few weeks I thought it was about time I wrote about the weekend. Firstly, here are a few of my favourite outfits spotted over the weekend:
Echo Falls provided us with a lovely camp close to the main part of the site, complete with a gazebo for when we were feeling a little lazy and wanted to chill out. Inside the festival itself they also had their own Dome-shaped Pod tent where they were serving up their wines (my favourite is the White Zinfandel if you’re wondering) including their 'Spritz' mixes which are basically lemonade and your choice of wine. They may come in cans which could be debated as a little wrong for wine, but the taste and portability (such a good idea for taking to events like festivals) definitely relinquishes your first reservations. There was also a make-up station where we could have face painting, flamboyant fake eyelashes or even hair feathers applied to get us all looking festival ready, and even a photo booth with some great accessories from the same company we worked with at V Festival!
A few weeks ago I went along to the Wolford store at Westfield, Shepherd’s Bush as a representative of WIWT for their Blogger’s Social, a great event which showcased their Autumn / Winter 2012 collection. It was a lovely evening, with delicious canapés, WAH nails, bubbly and lots of lovely hosiery to lust after whilst chatting to fellow bloggers.
Wolford was launched in 1949, selling luxury hosiery and underwear for the glamorous woman, and generally revolutionising the industry with techniques which set them apart as a globally recognized brand. They have worked with many prominent designers, and I was excited to find out a little more and check out the new collection!
Little did I know just how great the collection would be! Gone are my perceptions of Wolford as an upscale tights manufacturer. There was a ready-to-wear line complete with slimming pencil skirts, beautiful lace bodies which would look great with a full skater skirt (and getting rid of that annoying skirt-meets-top-and-puckers-messily moment), gorgeous underwear, and a tights collection to die for.
The world appears to have gone a little bondage mad right now, what with the massive sales being achieved by Fifty Shades of Grey, which is a little worrying and leaves you wondering whether many people are leading double lives, hiding a lust for bondage beneath their midi skirts. On the other hand, dominatrix-esque features have been fantastically transferred into the fashion industry, We’re seeing leather, chunky boots and a lot of black. Wolford have evidently been drinking the same water…
These bondage criss-cross tights with studs (shown with red dress) are probably one of my favourites, especially when worn with the gaiters as they are here, to create a doubled up, intricate look! As you can see, Wolford can also do ready to wear, and I can completely see the showgirl to school girl vibe as Bangs and a Bun described! Loving this body-con dogtooth skirt and lace body!
As some of you may have seen on Twitter on Thursday (or noticed from my tennis racket-y WIWT post), I travelled to Birmingham's Edgbaston Priory Club with Juice and TaylorFaceAce last week to watch some fierce females thrash it out at the Aegon Classic.
You are cordially invited to join us for a drink and some shopping (we know you love both) on Friday the 1st of June, to help us toast our dear Queen Elizabeth II.
Head on down to Carnaby Street after work (it's very pretty and jubilee-ish at the moment) and you'll find us downstairs at Rock and Rule's pop-up shop on Marshall Street. (Map here)
There'll be shopping to be done (our beloved iwhoretees and Buttonmess are being stocked at Rock and Rule) and we'll obvs be having a general natter and a gossip.
Come say hey. We'll be sad if you don't.
Reign on, Ms Lizzie xxx
Well, its not here just yet, but it's basically here. It's this weekend!
We have some amazing people, including your favourite WIWT users, selling all sorts of things from vintage to high street to unworn designer pieces, with prices from £1 and all the way up (ya know, for those Loubies and Choos).
Oooh and a few people are selling beauty bits and cakes too. That's always nice.
Please pop along to one of the sessions to grab a bargain, meet your fellow WIWT-ers and support the fundraising efforts of The British Heart Foundation!
The Humble Sale will be open 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm this Saturday and Sunday (21st and 22nd of April).
There'll be new sellers at every session, so feel free to pop by both days!
If you want to be first in at The Humble Sale to snap up the best bits quick fast, pre-register here. Just show us that you reigstered when you arrive and we'll let you jump the queue, simples.
We won't be accepting card payments so bring heaps of cash with ya ;-) There are plenty of Link machines nearby (including one directly opposite the venue) but we recommend being highly organised and getting cash en route if you don't wanna get charged to withdraw.
Where: Space FiftyFour, 54 Rivingon Street, Shoreditch, London EC2A 3QN
When: 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm this Saturday and Sunday (21st and 22nd of April)
Nearest Tubes: Shoreditch, Old Street, Liverpool Street
Cost to get in: Minimum donation of £2 to The British Heart Foundation. (Feel free to bring all your loose change!)
Can't come? You can still one of the thousands of pounds worth of prizes up for grabs! Donate £2 to The BHF and get a raffle ticket, simple. Details here. You'd be MAD to miss it.
If you follow either myself or WIWT on Twitter then you will have seen us bang on about this jumble sale idea we had.
Basically, we have a lot of clothes we want to sell but eBay drives us mad. And we know a lot of you are the same. So we thought it would be cool to connect all the WIWTers with nice things that they would sell on eBay but can't be arsed to take a zillion photos/spend half their life at the post office/wrestle with idiot buyers over Paypal discrepancies. We're gonna host a jumble sale!
It's gonna be like the jumble sales you loved rummaging around at in your local school hall in the 90s, but we're calling it a 'Humble Sale' because we're raising money for charidee in the process. And instead of selling crap, we're hoping the WIWT boys and girls will have some pretty fash-tastic things for sale. We've heard peeps are planning to sell everything from Primark to Prada, H&M to Hermes, so we shall see!
The Humble Sale will be taking place across the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of April at Space Fifty Four at WIWT HQ (that's in Shoreditch, London). We will be raising money for The British Heart Foundation
Want to sell?
You can register to sell here, it will cost you a tenner (£10.90 with Eventbrite handling fee) and you keep all the money you make, so the amount you can make really depends on how much you have to sell!
You are welcome to sell womenswear items, fashion accessories, beauty products, cakes and other foodie goods. No kids clothes, please. The buyers coming will be from the WIWT community - which means you'll be predominantly selling to fashion savvy young females. If you wanna sell menswear though, we know there'll be stylish boys floating about too :)
Want to buy?
Register here for tickets to come and shop - there'll be some AMAZING bargains. By registering in advance you'll be able to jump the queue to get to those bargains first! You can of course just turn up on the day without registering, but whatever you do you'll need to donate a minimum of £2 to The British Heart Foundation to get in :) We'll have collection buckets on the door, so feel free to bring aaaaaaaall your loose change to support The BHF's life saving work.
Are you a brand that wants part of the action?
We would LOVE for you to donate a prize for our big raffle. We're going to be selling raffle tickets all weekend and every penny will go The British Heart Foundation. The BHF will be selling raffle tickets online too so anyone can play, even if they can't get down to The Humble Sale themselves! Please email if you can donate a prize, we'll be eternally grateful.
There'll be more information available shortly, but mark your diaries now and register for your selling slot now if that's what you wanna do!
Yeah. Last week we partied. It wasn't so raucous that it's taken a week to recover and upload the photos, but it's been a bit of a whirlwind since the party and we haven't had much chance to breathe or, more importantly, blog.
So how does a fashion community celebrate reaching 20,000 outfit uploads?
With burritos! And cider! And cognac! And chocolate!
We've tried to carve ourselves out as the relatively 'normal' people in the world of fash-un, we know our palazzo from our capri but we also like carbs and booze. And we smile and stuff.
More than 100 shexsy WIWT-ers descended on London's best burrito joint last Monday - Chilango on Chancery Lane.
Chilango looked after us very well indeed - they proved what I already knew, that all you need to be happy is a DJ, guacamole, hot sauce and well dressed people.
An alarming number of attendees had NEVER had a burrito before, so it was quite the honour to indoctrinate them in the way of Chilango.
We had free flowing booze in the form of the ever so delicious pear and apple cider from Rekorderlig (you are all converted) and we had a truly scrummy punch that was more punchy than fruity thanks to our naughty friends at Courvoisier.
Suitably oiled and fed it's safe to say the night was a hoot. It was very weird (nice weird!) to see so many WIWTers in one room, it was literally like the website IN A REAL LIFE ROOM. Everyone was as gorgeous, lovely and immaculately turned out as you'd expect.
I was very proud indeed to see so many people there.
I also got lots of lovely cards and presents, so clearly I should hold events on my birthday more often. (Thank you for them!)
50 of our top users were lucky enough to get their manicured paws on our very limited edition goody bags which had treats from Cadbury (Bubbly is THE BEST), Boux Avenue, LOVE, Burt's Bees, Kleenex Cleanse, Compeed, iwhoretees and Chilango.
Pic stolen from Rosalilium
Here are some photos. There are more here thanks to the iwhore laydeez.
Thank you for playing!
More WIWT events soon...one is very soon actually. Watch this space!
Manchester is WIWT's second biggest city (and our secret number one fave) so it made sense that for our first official WIWT meet-up, we got smashed there on porn star martinis.
It was raucous fun and effing hot to see so many girls wearing iwhore in one bar!
Our bar of choice that night? The Alchemist. Do work your way through their cocktail list if you're ever in that neck of the woods.
The iwhore gals took loads of pics which are up on FB here, but here are some of our faves...
A huge thank you to everyone who came and makes this website as awesome as it is, WIWT loves you xxx
excuse our drunkenness x
